All Aboard!!

Updated: Mar 18, 2018

Cruise weddings seem to be taking off lately. What better way to get married but to spend your ceremony, reception and honeymoon onboard your very own ship. Plus go away with your closest friends and family for 10days. Awesome right? Or not? I am lucky to conduct dozens of weddings onboard cruise ships every year. You can bring on 2 friends or 50 friends, they could sail with you or they could get off, it’s up to you and your guest.

What I love

- Your wedding ceremony, reception and honeymoon is in one place

- there normally is five staff to every guess for your ceremony and reception, so the service is fantastic

- the food is amazing

- views can be amazing

- value for money

- Go to your room to get changed into your thongs and swimwear after the reception without going anywhere

- Sydney harbour views

- They have a chapel, deck or function room areas for ceremony

- They provide wedding planners and coordinators

Things to watch out for

- Boarding can take up to 2 hours

- guest must be pre-registered

- you are at the mercy of the captain with regards to boarding times ceremony time and departure times

- some people either love cruises or hate cruises

- Suppliers are limited in what they can do for ceremony

- You have Australian Border Force, Port Authorities and Cruise Personnel to deal with before getting onboard. So it can take time, but your wedding planner handles it all.
